One Happy Chick Family

We are one happy "chick family"!

I am so proud of all the knowledge that the kids are showing about baby chicks and caring for baby chicks! They are such great parents for these baby chicks. We have the chicks until Thursday and then they will need to go out to a farm to continue to grow!

Growing up so fast!

Fluffy and Madeline all snuggled together and comfy on Friday morning! Bob and Chicklet are doing very well over in Mrs. Prawdzik's classroom.

We weighed and measured our baby chick FLUFFY!

Lung capacity = very strong because it does lots of CHIRPING!!

Our Newest Arrival!!!

OUR BRAND NEW BABY CHICK!

The kids got to watch this hatch from start to finish. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! The baby chick entered the world at 10:07 am. The kids got to see how the baby chick pushes itself out of the egg! I have never seen so many kids holding their breath before and they were just vibrating with excitement.

Miss. Pickett and her kiddos are the proud parents of 4 baby chicks!!!

Congratulations ETHAN for being Miss. Pickett's special person today. Ethan has been working so hard to be a very responsible grade three student. He is really making sure that he is making lots of positive choices in the classroom and on the playground. Ethan is growing into an amazing learner with great critical thinking skills. Ethan is sure showing that he is a superstar math whiz. He is becoming a master of his addition, multiplication and subtraction facts. Ethan is an amazing artist and drawer.

OUR BABY CHICKS HAVE ARRIVED!

We have four eggs that we will be hatching. The kids are beyond pumped to watch this amazing journey. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes and watching how the kids are just about ready to burst with energy as they wait for the first chick to hatch!! The kids are learning a bunch about how a lifecycle works through a great hands on experience! This is something they will remember for a lifetime.

Be prepared to hear a lot from your children about our wonderful baby chicks!!!

Yoga in the classroom.

Rocking the "MOUNTAIN" yoga stretch!!!

I recently attended a "yoga in the classroom" session for teachers that was AMAZING. I am now incorporating yoga into our classroom activities on a daily basis as part of the daily physical activity requirements for Alberta schools. It is a great way to give the kids a "brain break" with all the fitness benefits.

The kids are absolutley loving it. The yoga that we are doing in the classroom is centered completely around increasing inner muscle strength, balance, coordination, muscle endurance, flexibility and focus. The kids are taught about yoga safety and recognizing the limitations of their body to keep the yoga environment safe.

The kids will be doing balance, energizing and strengthing yoga moves.

The kids will have some fun teaching you yoga at home so please be sure to ask them to show you some of the poses and stretches they are learning.

USING MATH GAMES!

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD IS WORKING ON THEIR MATH FACTS FOR 5 MINUTES EVERY NIGHT.

A FUN AND EXCITING WAY TO LEARN THESE MATH FACTS IS TO USE MATH GAMES.

We do math games all the time in the classroom, so if you are looking for some ideas or would like a copy of the games we play at school please let me know.

Playing math games with your child is a great way to have some quality family time with some fun learning on the side!
