Thursday, Dec. 16 - Miss. Pickett's Class Christmas Movie Party (this is for the kids filling their popcorn jar in the beat the teacher challenge).
Friday, Dec. 17 - Skating Party (9 - 10:30 am) followed by Christmas snacks and hot chocolate.
CAN YOU SAY BUSY!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!
I am moving "Family Movie Night" that was going to take place on Thursday night this week to the New Year. So we will be having a "RING IN THE NEW YEAR" movie party instead.
It is such a busy time of year and I have some students that cannot make the movie night due to other commitments and they are quite sad not to be a part of it. I don't want any child feeling left out of something so I have decided to do movie night in the New Year instead. It will be a great way to start a brand new year!
Thank you for your understanding on this matter. Those families that were going to send snacks for the movie night I would love if you could send them on Friday instead for after the skating party!

We will be going skating for our Christmas party on Friday, December 17th. We will be skating from 9 to10:30. I will need parent volunteers to drive the kids to Nicholas Sheran arena. Parents are more than welcome to join their child on the ice.
After skating, we will be coming back to the school for hot chocolate and baked goodies. I will need parents to send in some baked goodies (muffins, cookies, rice krispy square...etc). I will also need some parents to volunteer to warm hot chocolate at the school for when the kids return.
Please let me know if you can help out. A letter will be coming home with your child filled with more details about the Christmas Skating Party.

Remembrance day is coming up next week. The kids are doing many activities that centre around the meaning of this day.
We have been having lots of discussions in class about what it means to be a "hero", what it means to have courage and what peace on earth would look like.
Here are the links to some of the videos that kids have watched in class for you to view as a family and talk about their significance.
