WE NEED SOIL SAMPLES!
We are into
our “ROCKS AND MINERALS” units for science.
Please have your child to a SOIL
hunt this weekend to bring in three Ziploc bags with different types of soil
for MONDAY. This is a good time to
do a nature walk to hunt for some different kinds of soil.
When you dig it up please put the soil sample into Ziploc bag and label
where the soil is from or what kind of soil it is.
For example,
you may want to go down to the river bottom and dig up a little bit of soil,
dig in your own backyard or go on a coulee hike to collect some different
soils.
Kids can
bring in potting soil, sandy soil, clay soil…any type of soil will work.
We will be exploring the soil and doing soil
experiments next week so the more different types of soil we have the
better. J
